Become a part of the forty year-old story of preservation in Ohio.

Preservation Ohio was founded as the Ohio Preservation Alliance in May, 1982 at the current home of the Ohio Supreme Court in downtown Columbus. As Ohio’s original statewide preservation organization, we have made a difference for Ohio’s historic resources in all corners of the state.

OHIO’S MOST ENDANGERED

This important annual list of endangered Ohio history was first published in 1993.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

We provide in person and remote technical assistance across the state.

PRESERVATION EASEMENTS

We maintain Ohio’s oldest statewide preservation easement program.

ADVOCACY

We work with Ohioans seeking a future for local history at risk of loss.

How to get involved

Perhaps you are looking to preserve a piece of Ohio history in your community, or even and entire neighborhood or downtown. Or maybe you just have an interest in how Ohio can keep more of its treasured past as it moves forward into the future Whatever the reason, there are ways to get involved in Buckeye preservation.
