The Preservation Ohio Board of Directors marked the beginning of the organization’s 43rd year of operation at a meeting on Saturday, August 31 at the Orange Branch Library of the Delaware County District Library (pictured).

Prior to the meeting, Board members and staff gathered for an informal lunch at the historic Bun’s Restaurant in downtown Delaware, long a favorite.

In addition to reviewing ongoing work, the Board set the course for work throughout the remainder of 2024 and into early 2025. A review of current preservation and revitalization conversations taking place across the state was held, including a discussion of new matters which have come into the office during the past month.

The organization is moving on workshop venues for the fall and spring. At the same time, a virtual meeting concerning the new Ohio Preservation Connection is envisioned in the coming weeks; more information on this meeting will be conveyed soon. For those wishing an invitation to be a part, please contact Executive Director Thomas Palmer at: thomasp@preserveohio.com.

Lastly, the Board has issued another call for prospective members to join its ranks. Board membership of Ohio’s original statewide preservation organization is an enjoyable way to make a difference for the state’s rich collection of historic resources. Drop us a line if interested!
