In an effort to support local changemakers and empower communities, the Greater Ohio Policy Center (GOPC), the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), and Heritage Ohio are coming together to host an informative webinar titled “Preparing a Successful Bid for State Capital Budget Dollars.” The webinar aims to shed light on the intricacies of the capital budget process, equipping attendees with valuable knowledge and insights to secure funding for their thoughtfully-planned projects.

Local communities across Ohio often face challenges when it comes to funding important projects that can uplift their neighborhoods and create lasting positive impacts. The state’s capital budget presents a unique opportunity for communities to access financial resources for various development initiatives, from infrastructure improvements to cultural preservation projects.

The cornerstone of the webinar will be a comprehensive overview of the capital budget, affectionately referred to as “101 on the Capital Budget.” Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights into the inner workings of the budget process, understand its objectives, and navigate through the intricacies of funding allocation. Also included will be case study examples of small communities utilizing capital budget dollars for thoughtfully-planned projects, including their planning steps and process to secure funds.
