Our first “On the Road” experience in 2023 took place recently with a visit to the Morrow County county seat village of Mount Gilead.

Preservation Ohio Executive Director Thomas Palmer spoke with village officials there about downtown revitalization, design review ordinances, and other preservation-related topics. Morrow County is in the path of potential growth as northern Columbus expands and the number of commuters increase.

This beautiful building is Levering Hall (see photo), a former performing arts space on one of two village squares that is in need of attention and investment.

There will be other visits this year, including a workshop scheduled for April 28 in northern Ohio. Details on that event are coming soon.

If you would like your community to obtain the latest information about financial incentives for revitalization, recent changes to Ohio law that impact community development, and more, drop Thomas a line at: thomasatpo@gmail.com and we’ll send you our workshop packet.
