A 1908 theatre in Cincinnati originally constructed for vaudeville. A public square in a small Marion County community. A magnificent church recently vacated by a congregation no longer able to sustain its upkeep.
These structures are among the 11 sites in Ohio added to the National Register of Historic Places since the beginning of August.
The National Register of Historic Places serves as the formal compendium of locales in the United States deemed significant enough to merit conservation. Established under the National Historic Preservation Act enacted in 1966, it is managed by the National Park Service and contributes to a broader initiative aimed at recognizing, assessing, and safeguarding the country’s cultural and archaeological heritage.
