Let’s face it. At some point, we’ve all struggled to break down a complex concept. But today, let’s keep things simple.

After 42 years of working to preserve Ohio’s historic treasures, one lesson stands out at Preservation Ohio: information is power. The more we all share it with decision-makers, the more effective we are at protecting what matters. This information travels in many ways—through local historical societies, Main Street organizations, conferences, meetings, webinars, online platforms, and, of course, face-to-face conversations.

Now, we have an exciting new tool in our toolkit: artificial intelligence.

Over the past year, we’ve brought this vision to life. While doing so, we found that the most effective approach is to offer access not only to our comprehensive preservation and revitalization AI tool but also to a variety of other AI platforms. With technology advancing at a rapid pace—sometimes daily—we’re committed to keeping our local partners informed and ready for success.

This effort forms the foundation of our new Ohio Preservation Connection program. By joining this initiative, local partners gain access to statewide and local resource hubs designed to support preservation and revitalization efforts. It’s also an opportunity to explore AI-based solutions that can streamline operations, enhance content creation for blogs and social media, produce Main Street merchant ads, design historic tours, launch heritage tourism campaigns, and much more.

Imagine this: you can now upload promotional materials for your downtown or historic neighborhood and create a vibrant, engaging podcast episode in just a few minutes—no scripts, no coding, no recording required. Marketing ideas can arrive by the dozen-fold, quickly and painlessly. Information on funding sources used elsewhere — things you may have never known existed — can be yours, just for asking.

All of this is made possible through our affiliation with one of Ohio’s most innovative news and media companies.

It’s literally the future of the past, and it all starts right here in Ohio.

We go live on November 1. Then, in the days and weeks which follow, we’ll be sharing even more about this groundbreaking program.

The actual nerve center for the OPC.
